Housekeeping Manager Position Now Open!

Responsibility : Maintain a high level of cleanliness of guest rooms, public and back of the house areas through training, evaluation, re-training and directing  of rooms and laundry associates in accordance with company standards, policies, procedures and budgetary guidelines to ensure outstanding levels of guest satisfaction.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Supervise & direct the associates of housekeeping & laundry; interview, train, develop, empower, resolve problems, and provide open communication to associates and Director of Housekeeping  (40%)
  2. Implement company programs and supervise the daily operations to comply with standards,and motivate employees to ensure an optimal level of quality service and hospitality are provided to the hotel guests (20%)
  3. Ensure procedures are followed and proper controls are in place to minimize losses and expenses through monthly inventory counts, inventory pars, supply ordering and controls, proper scheduling of associates and forecasting.(20%)
  4. Respond to guests' special requests, needs, problems, issues, and concerns, ensure optimal levels of guest satisfaction and repeat business. (10%)
  5. Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.  Participate in task forces and committees as requested.  (3%)
  6. Assist Director of Housekeeping with all department documentation as it relates to associates and guests, including but not limited to attendance, training, payroll,  incidents & lost & found. (8%)
Knowledge and Skills:
 
Education:                              High school diploma required, and/ or some college level study in related field.
 
Experience:                           Two full years of employment in a related position with Block 22 Hotels or other hotel companies.
 
Skills and Abilities:                               
 
  • Requires supervision/ management skills. 
  • Requires ability to communicate in English.  Knowledge of second language desirable. 
  • Requires ability to achieve positive associate relations and maximize quality & guest satisfaction. 
  • Requires ability to enforce all company rules and SOP's.
 
No. of employees supervised:  Supervise 2 to 20 employees.
 
Travel required:  Minimal.  May be required to attend supplemental management training courses.
 
Hours Required:   45 to 50 hours over a 5 day period including weekends and holidays.
